Clean Up Your AWS Account with Claude Code
Tags:aws · claude · mcp · finops
Forgotten AWS resources are easy to create and easy to lose track of — an idle NAT gateway here, a few unattached EBS volumes there. In this screencast I add Jungle Cleaner to Claude Code, connect an AWS account, run a first scan, and clean up what it finds, all from one chat.
What the video covers
- Connect — add the Jungle Cleaner MCP server to Claude Code and connect AWS with a read-only IAM role.
- Scan — check compute, storage, databases and networking for waste, with a monthly price on every finding.
- Cleanup — ask Claude Code to clean up your AWS account and follow the step-by-step guide for each finding.
- Verify — confirm the saving with AWS and add it to your running total.
Jungle Cleaner can look but never touch. Nothing is deleted unless you run the command yourself, and it double-checks a resource is still idle before suggesting you remove it.
Add it to Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http jungle-cleaner https://junglecleaner.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
You'll find your API key on the dashboard after signing in.
